Kährs and Karelia-Upofloor merger approved by relevant competition authorities

Kährs and Karelia-Upofloor have received competition authorities' approval to merge which means that the merger was completed as of Dec 3.

Karelia-Upofloor and Kährs to merge - creating Europe’s leading producer of wood floors

 

Karelia-Upofloor Oy and Swedish company AB Gustaf Kähr ("Kährs") today announces a merger of the two companies, creating Europe's leading producer of wood floors. The new company will be market leader in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia, and will hold strong positions in other important markets such as England and Germany. The new company will have revenues of around 300 million euro.

Peter Therman appointed as President and CEO of Karelia-Upofloor

Peter Therman has been appointed as President and CEO of Karelia-Upofloor Oy as from May 26th 2012. He has been member of the Board of Directors of Karelia-Upofloor since 2010 and since Feb 18th 2011 he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Karelia-Upofloor and the Suvanto lounge concept at Helsinki Airport

Karelia-Upofloor, Finavia, Martela, UPM, Fortum ja Clear Channel have created a lounge concept, called Suvanto, at Helsinki Airport. Suvanto is an oasis comprising work and rest locations, where people can work and relax. Suvanto also provides recharging stations for different electronic devices.

CEO Mikko Kilpeläinen has resigned from his position

CEO Mikko Kilpeläinen has resigned from his position in order to move to another employer. The Board will initiate a search for a new CEO as soon as possible.
